Phase 1 Construction Plan View

For those who can develop a sense for the space with drawings, here is the planned first floor work (it prints full scale on B size paper). We will gut and renovate the back part of the house, new kitchen/dining area, convert existing East side bath to a laundry room, new door to the outside, radiant ceiling heat (thanks for the idea Tom D.), fluorescent recessed lighting fixtures in the kitchen, new East side windows throughout and new siding in back.

Plus we will exentend electrical power to all the rooms (1950 electricity is much different than 2007 electricity), paint and have the hardwood floors refinished.

Enjoy, stay well and Eat More Kale.

good to know which is "east" - and WOW(!), major kitchen renov. so what is the difference between 1950 v. 2007 electrical? (smart or smart-ass response welcomed. perhaps a blogpost to 'splain to newbies.)

How exciting, another home renovation project!! What's with the radiant ceiling heat? Can I assume electric? Can I help you out with that in anyway?

To Tricia:

NO ELECTRIC HEAT IN VERMONT!

Thanks for the offer, but with as many heating degree days as we have, I would suffer with the electric bill. We will be making a seperate zone from the existing boiler to heat the kitchen zone.

To shirlsd:
The difference between 195 and 2007 electricity is the amount of it one needs. We need much more now. Although I do not need so much as I would heat part of my home with it.
