With the nice weather, we have done outside stuff, along with cat abuse.
Here billn climbs a tree (this limb is about 25' above the grass) to tie a rope and pulley to the tree. Remember what senior and junior daughters say "danger is fun sometimes." Read on to understand the rope and pulley.
Here is some bow sawing. Danger is fun and rewarding sometimes.
You can see senior enjoying the rope and pulley here. This is an old water ski tow rope. On top is the pulley. Billn pulls down on one end and connected daughter hangs on to go up. Very fun.

The children realized they can sit on the tow rope handle, as a swing. This is a great swing for their small bodies, the rope holds their sides and they hang on to the single vertical rope right in front of them. They can swing very high. In fact, tonight we measured senior after dinner, here eyes were about 11' above the grass at the peak. Danger is fun a lot of the time.

First, let me say, in theory this seemed like a better idea than when I see it in print....maybe the authorities should be called.
Second, that is NOT cat abuse. SR wanted to make Georgie a cat bed, I cannot be responsible for what she chooses to use the scraps for.
Finally, being the mother of billn's offspring is very challenging sometimes since they have an innate desire to engage in ALL things dangerous. (It also doesn't help that what they don't think of Billn does)!
This is Vermont, our regulations actually require us to expose the children to physical danger (skiing, snow-shoeing in bear laden woods, mountain biking, etc.). Since these activites are either not available this summer or our kids are not old enough yet, I am doing my part to respect the law.
As they say in the Burning Man community....."Safety Third!"
Don't bring you burning man culture to wholesome VT.
I will say I enjoy their credo.
Keep Burning!
nice pumpkin cat. and where is the permit posted for the the tree-modification you performed.
Shirlsd, you forget this is VT, not CA. Our state slogan is "I'm from Vermont, I do what I want." This only rhymes if a native Vermonter says it, but it is our way of being.
In CA I understand you need a permit to mow the lawn, but if you let the lawn grow too long, the government fines you.
Nobody lives in CA, they survive.
billn - BRAVO!!!, once again, for your perspective. your fan club member who is surviving in CA - shirlsd
