Tonight we have heat. The wiring is 80% right, only the thermostat wiring is hanging out of the control panel and the main 120 Volt power is an extension cord. But the other 80 or 90 wires are all terminated, and right on.
The boiler is not working in sealed combustion mode, that comes later.
The single expansion tank is inadequate, billn must add another.
The kitchen radiant zone is 0% complete, that comes later.
The domestic hot water is 0% complete, that comes next.
The boiler needs to be vacuumed and tuned, but we are running zero smoke, 80.5% efficient right now, so that is good.
There are no baseboards in the dining room, that comes soon.
There are a lot of undone parts, but the boiler is firing, the zone valves are operable and the heat is flowing to the house. No pictures today, maybe later. Standing here in the kitchen posting this note, billn can hear the boiler cylcing on and off. That is a nice sound.

If you are looking for us we will be huddled by the baseboard behind the couch in the living room.
some heat is better than no heat?!?
can you be just a little frozen to death or is it same as being frozen to death?
just some ponderings from a brooklyn barrister.

First, a point of clarification, all the high-temperature heating eqiupment installed provides heating (there are no baseboards in the dining room). All the bedrooms, bathrooms and living room have heat.
Second, do some research, toads spend the winter actually frozen solid, so billn cannot answer you unclear question. Please tighten it up.
Third, what does an attorney know about anything that isn't written into case law? Refer to the case of Freeze vs. Death, 1982, State Supreme Court of Nevada. Then you might understand. Until then, continue your continued trampling of my civil rights.
BB,
I think it is like being a little bit pregnant, either you are or you aren't there is no "kinda"!
bill n sure does get riled-up quickly these days. i was just musing about what it means to be frozen to death. i'll look into the toads as bill n suggests.
once we are able to thaw ted williams' brain, and then bring him and some host body back to life, the legal world will get involved because ted is going to want his estate back. until then i will just ponder away.

late in the game commenting ... but here goes - billn said ... billn can hear the boiler cylcing [sic] on and off. That is a nice sound.
y'know what a nice sound is? jenm, jr. or sr. yelling (politely, of course) ... it's too HOT. can you please turn down the heat?!... ah ... thank you. (music to any person's ears.)
That is a great sound. Of course hearing that will not be likely (unless our thermostat wires fuse together as they did in our NY house, we returned home from a trip to discover an 85 degree living room).
More likely will be somebody saying it is too cold. The answer will be "put on a sweater, oil is >$3 per gallon."
